AXLE TUBE SLEEVE
JEEP WRANGLER JK DANA

Step 1) Refer to service manual to properly
drain the differential fluid, raise the Jeep, secure it on jack stands and
finally for removal to the point that you have the axle shafts removed from the
Step 2) Next, thoroughly remove all foreign
debris from the axle tubes themselves.
Be sure to get these very clean as you do not want to trap in small
rocks/mud in the tubes. *TIP* First use a shop-vac for the larger
debris and finally use a broom handle or something similar with a shop towel
attached to the end to finish the job.
Liberally applying brake cleaner to the towel will help with this
Step 3) Apply a thin layer of high pressure
grease to the sleeves themselves prior to inserting them into the axle
Step 4) Insert the tube sleeves into the
housing and using an aluminum puck, bearing race driver set or something
similar, simply pound in the sleeve with a good size hammer. The Sleeve should be flush with the OEM axle
tube when you are finished.
NOT HIT THE SLEEVE DIRECTLY – THIS WILL CAUSE THE END OF THE SLEEVE TO
Step 5) Some JK’s axle shafts are equipped
with a guide ring near the seal surface.
If your JK has these, remove them at this time.
Step 6) Finally reassemble your Jeep per the
service manual and enjoy!
